Harness the Shamal winds across the Arabian Gulf
The UAE offers ideal kitesurfing conditions year-round. The West Coast benefits from the powerful Shamal winds in summer, while the East Coast provides consistent winter conditions.

Kitesurfing Conditions in the UAE
The UAE's kitesurfing scene is one of the most vibrant in the Middle East, fuelled by reliable year-round winds and a large, passionate expat community. Two distinct seasons offer different experiences across the Emirates.
The Shamal Season (May–October)
The Shamal is a strong NW/W wind that dominates the Arabian Gulf from late spring through autumn. Dubai's Kite Beach and Ras Al Khaimah are the premier spots, with winds averaging 15–25 knots and peak gusts reaching 30+ on strong Shamal days.
East Coast Winter (October–April)
The East Coast (Fujairah) picks up consistent NE trade winds through the cooler months, offering more moderate conditions ideal for learning and freeriding.
Regulations
Kiting is only permitted in designated zones. Dubai Municipality strictly enforces this. Always kite in marked areas and never fly a kite near crowds, roads, or structures.
