East Coast (Indian Ocean)

Fujairah, Dibba, and the Musandam coastline face the Indian Ocean. This coast gets consistent winter swells and year-round diving conditions. Peak season for surfing is October to April, with water temperatures comfortable year-round.

West Coast (Arabian Gulf)

Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, RAK, Ajman, and UAQ border the Arabian Gulf. No surfable waves, but the Shamal northwesterly wind (May–September) makes it the best kitesurfing and windsurfing coast. Water is flat, warm, and shallow.
