Overview

Dibba sits at the northeastern tip of the UAE, right on the border with Oman. The town is split into three sections administered by Fujairah, Sharjah, and Oman. The waters here are crystal-clear and sheltered, making it ideal for beginners.

Snoopy Island

Named after its profile resemblance to the famous cartoon dog, Snoopy Island is a small rocky island just offshore. It's ringed by healthy coral and home to an extraordinary array of marine life.

What you'll see:

  • Turtles (common sightings)
  • Colourful reef fish
  • Moray eels
  • Parrotfish, angelfish, and butterflyfish

The island is reachable by kayak from the beach — a 10-minute paddle from Sandy Beach Resort.

Surfing at Dibba

Dibba receives the same northeast swells as Fujairah, though the breaks are generally smaller and more mellow. It's perfect for first-timers or those wanting a gentler session.

Local Tips

  • Bring your own snorkel gear or rent from Sandy Beach Resort
  • The beach area around Snoopy Island can get crowded on weekends — visit on weekday mornings for the best experience
  • Oman border crossing (Khor Fakkan side) is straightforward for most nationalities — bring your passport
