About Fujairah Surf Club
Established in 2010, Fujairah Surf Club is the oldest and most respected surf school on the UAE's East Coast. The club has introduced thousands of beginners to surfing and runs advanced coaching programmes for experienced riders.
Courses Offered
Beginner Surf Course (2 Days)
Learn the fundamentals: paddling, popping up, and riding whitewater. Maximum group size of 6 ensures personal attention.
What's included:
- Surfboard and leash rental
- Rash vest or wetsuit (seasonal)
- Video analysis session
Price: AED 750 per person
Intermediate Surf Programme (4 sessions)
Progress from whitewater to green waves. Focus on reading waves, positioning, and turning technique.
Price: AED 1,200 per person
Private Lessons
One-on-one coaching with a qualified instructor. Suitable for any level.
Price: AED 350 per hour
Board Fleet & Equipment
The club maintains a fleet of 12 boards covering all levels:
- Foamies (9'0" and 8'0") — primary beginner boards; soft-top construction reduces injury risk
- Longboards (9'6" NSP) — used for intermediate progression and small-wave performance
- Mini-mals (7'6"–8'0") — the transition board between foam and fibreglass; intermediate students
Rash vests, leashes, and seasonal wetsuits (3/2mm shorty) are included in all lesson fees. Boards can be rented by the hour outside of lesson times (AED 100/hour).

Best Season
The East Coast surf season runs October to April. Best swells arrive from the south-southwest, generated by distant Indian Ocean systems. November through January typically offers the most consistent waves. The club is closed June through September — the swell disappears and the heat makes early morning the only practicable window.
Peak swell months: November–January
Best daily window: 7:00–10:00 AM (offshore wind in the morning grooms the waves; afternoon sea breezes create chop)
Nearby Accommodation
For multi-day surf trips, the Sandy Beach Hotel (2 minutes' walk) is the most convenient option. The Fujairah Rotana (15 minutes south) offers better facilities at slightly higher prices.
